Festival d'Art Oratoire On behalf of Mme Rocchetti and Mme Saint-Onge, and all of us here at Thomas Street Middle School, a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Shivani B. (603), Isabella J. (612) and Anthony W (804), who represented us so well at March 26th French speech contest at the Peel District School Board, for the "Festival d'Art Oratoire.". Competing with the 76 best French speakers from schools all over the Peel Board, our students spoke to an audience of over 200 parents, teachers and other students in a huge amphitheatre, in front of four judges and other senior administrators—and our three students were amazing! Shivani (Grade 6 Core French) and Isabella (Grade 6 French Immersion) were both poised and eloquent, and they answered the judge's questions with confidence, demonstrating their fabulous French! Our biggest congratulations of all needs to go to Anthony who WON THE Grade 7-8 Core French Competition! Anthony will now move on to the regional finals at York University, where he will represent the Peel Board in his category! Way to go Anthony! His speech was powerful and superbly delivered, and he tackled the judge's questions like a native speaker of French! Special congratulations to the incredible team of Core French teachers at TSMS who helped Anthony along his journey of becoming SO bilingual! Three thumbs up for TSMS! RAPTORS TRIP WAS AMAZING!! What an amazing Raptor Trip last week. We must thank Mr. Grdisa for organizing this trip and all the staff who supervised on the trip. It was a great day and the 4 mini trips went really well. Staff and students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the trip back went quickly and efficiently with parents waiting patiently for their children. Two girls actually got to meet Leo Rautins!!
