The total investment for the Planica Nordic Centre is EUR 47.4 million with a contribution of EUR 33.7 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Slovenian Alpine Museum The Slovenian Alpine Museum presents the past and present activities of Slovenes in the field of mountaineering. It educates the younger generations in the spirit of mountaineering and respect of nature. Its mission can thus be encapsulated in the slogan: "Rope team for the summits of future". Mountaineering is not only one of the most frequent sports and recreational activities in Slovenia but it is also part of Slovenian national identity. Throughout centuries the organisations active in this area have established and developed numerous activities, which met the level of other Alpine nations, such as construction of alpine cottages, mountain rescue, top-level mountain climbing, educating young people, protecting mountain nature, issuing maps and a number of manuals for safe mountaineering. The so-called mountain culture takes a very important place with regard to mountaineering: in addition to issuing the oldest Slovenian magazine “Planinski vestnik” a number of fiction and professional books have also been published as well as films and other materials. All these activities are presented in the framework of the permanent exhibition in the newly-built Slovenian Alpine Museum with occasional thematic exhibitions which further outline the major past and present events in the field of mountaineering. By visiting the exhibitions and seeing the introductory film, which presents to you will have the opportunity to interact and gain knowledge on topics presented by the Museum. The Slovenian Alpine Museum contributes significantly to the visit to Mojstrana as a less-developed tourist destination located in the municipality Kranjska Gora. The total investment for the Slovene Alpine Meuseum is EUR 2.9 million with a contribution of EUR 1.5 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
