Terms and conditions
I agree to follow the recommendations detailed above and accept the following disclaimer:
Disclaimer. The Drove Veterinary Hospital, nor any of it’s servants or agents, accept responsibility for any
injuries incurred to you or your dog no matter how caused. Please check your pet insurance policy (if you
have one) as many insurance companies do not cover injuries resulting from taking part in agility.

What you will need to bring
For you
Wear comfortable clothing and sensible shoes with some grip
For your dog
Treats and toys. A particularly delicious tit-bit and favourite toy should be bought along, to
help motivate. A tug toy or ball is ideal. Please make sure treats are kept in a container of
some kind that can be kept closed. A bumbag, treat bag or tupperware tub is ideal.





Illness & Absence. Please do not attend if your dog is unwell, or if you have a bitch in season. In the event of
illness or non-attendance, no refunds will be given. Please call us if you are unable to come one week – it is
only fair on the others that are waiting for you.
Children. Children under 16 are very welcome (those over 7yrs can be great trainers) but must be
accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times as noise and activity can distract the dogs.
Refunds. No refunds on places cancelled within 14 days of the start of the course.
Leads and collars. No choke/check chain, slip leads or half-check collars. A flat or rolled, buckle collar is
perfect.
Respect. Give dogs space - not all dogs feel comfortable meeting on lead.
These classes are designed to give you a taster of most of the common agility equipment. We hold the
safety of you and your dog in the highest regard, and will only progress the dog onto some of the
equipment if we feel it is safe to do so.
Fun Agility Pre Course Information
I am very pleased to invite you to take part in our fun dog agility classes!
Why do fun dog agility with Drove Behaviour Services?
It gives your dog something new to learn that many dogs really enjoy
It helps strengthen the relationship between you and your dog
Small classes and friendly approachable staff keep pressure and stress to the bare minimum
It helps keep you both a bit fitter!
Where will it be?
Inglesham Polo Centre, Lynt Farm Lane, Inglesham, SN6 7QZ
When will it take place?
Classes currently take place on a Monday and Wednesday evening
I don’t have a Border Collie – can I still take part?
Yes, yes, yes! ANY breed (or cross breed) can try agility, but there may sometimes be restrictions for
very large breeds due to health issues and safety
We welcome any age dog over 6 months old, but dogs will be using the equipment with restrictions
according to their age and ability. This is because young joints can be damaged by too much high
impact activity. Don’t worry, there will be plenty for the youngsters to do still!
I can’t run very fast- can I take part?
Absolutely- agility is as much about control as speed, and there are plenty of ways around the
slower individual (I should know – I’m not the fastest either )
My dog doesn’t like other dogs- can he still take part?
Our priority is that everyone at the classes are relaxed and can enjoy themselves. Some dogs find
class type environments very stressful, so they may prefer some one:one sessions. Please call me to
discuss if you have any concerns
How big are the classes?
Again, we want everyone to feel comfortable so the classes will be small- a maximum of 6 dogs per
class
How will we be trained?
As with all of the training classes run by Drove Behaviour Services, they will be run according to
reward based, positive reinforcement methods. There will be no shouting (at you or your dog!), and
no choke chains, smacking or any other harsh training techniques will be tolerated during the
classes
Our instructors all run their own dogs to varying levels – we’ve all been where you are!
What will we learn?
Our initial New Starters course aims to introduce you to the main pieces of agility equipment,
including jumps, tunnels, A Frame and Dog Walk, weaves and seesaws.
It takes considerably longer than 10 weeks to train a dog to effectively run a whole course, but you
will have had a try on most of the equipment by the end of the course
For those wanting to continue after the initial course, we offer follow on classes
I want to compete with my dog- are these classes suitable for me and my dog?
Our focus is on the fun non-pressured aspects of agility – if you are serious about competing with
your dog, you are very welcome to join our classes as a taster, but you may progress quicker in a
larger club type environment.
Does my dog need any kind of obedience training?
Ideally, your dog should know what ‘wait’ means, and should have a reasonable recall (ie, you can
call them away from other dogs and people).
Everything else, we will teach you!
