Des Moines Sales And Marketing Director
Outreach, Inc., is a 501c3 based in Union, Iowa but recently purchased a 32,000 sq. ft. warehouse and
office complex space at 7401 S. E. 14th, Des Moines, IA. Our website is: www.outreachprogram.org
The mission of Outreach is to provide safe water, food, medical care and education to children and
those in need at home and abroad.
Floyd and Kathy Hammer- who were recently awarded by President Obama and former President Bush
the 5,000th Points of Light Award at the White – began Outreach in 2004 after encountering children
dying of hunger in the Nkungi village in Tanzania, Africa. Asking the mamas in the villages what they
needed most, the mamas replied: food, water, medicine, and education. Those four needs- and the
Hammers’ commitment to fulfill them- has become known as the “Four Promises” of Outreach.
The primary activity of Outreach is volunteer-driven meal-packaging events. Outreach has a unique
model in that we often provide meal-packaging organizations ingredients, supplies, and equipment to
help them package. We also have our own Outreach Meal Packaging experiences which the person who
is chosen for this role will help develop that within the Iowa region.
The Des Moines Sales and Marketing Director will be a person who is highly motivated and has a
proven record of sales and an understanding of current marketing trends. A person who likes to be
motivated by a cause such as feeding the hungry will find this role very rewarding.
