Med-Peds ACGME Continuity Clinic & Patient Requirements
Continuity Clinics
Weekly continuity clinics will begin in PGY-1 and will continue through PGY-4. Residents must have a
minimum of 36 half-day sessions per year. At GHS that will primarily consist of an entire day each week of both
Internal Medicine and Pediatrics clinics for a half day each. On some rotations, only a half day per week is
allowed and in that case the weeks will alternate Peds and Internal Medicine Clinics. Some wards rotations
will not have clinics at all. In the case that a resident is on back-to-back wards rotations where there is usually
no clinic, an interventional clinic may be scheduled.
Over a minimum of 26 weeks per year each resident must have:
18 Half-Day Internal Medicine Continuity Clinics
18 Half-Day Pediatrics Continuity Clinics
Continuity Clinic Patient Numbers
Residents much see the following number of patients per year:
PGY-1:
PGY-2:
PGY-3:
PGY-4:
54 adult and 54 pediatric patient visits
72 adult and 72 pediatric patient visits
90 adult and 90 pediatric patient visits
90 adult and 90 pediatric patient visits
These are not different patients, just patient visits.
