Fox 1 Ben Fox Mr. Wilpiszeski Writing Workshop 13 November 2014 All Is Lost Steadily sailing at SUPER speeds, I fly through the air and hope that I wont fail and crash to the ground in a fiery blaze. But I always make it back to the ground safely. All I have to do is stay still and enjoy the ride. All day I keep flying around and around the globe seeing the same things happen every day. Some of the things I see are great like the wild animals sprinting across the African plains. But I also see bloody wars and busy streets polluting the air with the factories that mass-produce goods. It’s a good thing that I don’t have to breathe the air. While on a flight back from china I see a long line of fighter jets on the three largest air carriers and was amazed, I want to be one of those and do something helpful to my country of manufacturing. Then there was a huge explosion and I didn’t know what had happened until I saw the big televisions in New York say that the air carriers had been bombed. I was devastated but happy all at once. I was devastated because of the tragedy of the bombing, but this could be my chance to turn into something more than an unsanitary form of transportation. I waited several days after the new war of intense bombings and gunfights throughout the world. They started to take commercial planes like me to be a plane that could transport soldiers and drop bombs. I’m not so sure that I could be able live with myself if I knew that I was used to kill several thousand people by dropping a bomb and witnessing the immense explosion and aftershock. It would happen Fox 2 as fast as lightning bolts flashing in front of me as I speed through a storm. But then it happened; I was called to be a form of Transportation in the U.S Air Force. The Soldiers gave me fighter jet gasoline and gave me a more powerful engine with a professional pilot. Hoping to have a stellar performance I awaited my first day to do something meaningful in my life. I heard the soldiers talk about their gruesome experiences as I got ready to feel the asphalt disappear under my wheels and to soar at speeds as fast as the fighter jets I have seen on carriers all my life. BOOOM!!! As the sound of the bombs and guns approached at a rapid pace, without warning my pilot jumped and several bombs the size of elephants, were boarded into the rear entrance. Suddenly, I took off and my nightmare was coming true, they were going to make me bomb the terrorists. All of a sudden a bomber jet pulled up on the side of me, and the men took the explosives out of my storage and the soldiers helped transfer the bombs onto the deck of the b-12 bomber. As we heard pulled away I was pushed to go at speeds upward of ONE THOUSAND miles per hour. I soon landed in a foreign country as all of the soldiers were deployed and the captain took off again. This time I was zooming back to the airbase at TWO THOUSAND miles per hour. I was zooming around like a lightning bolt in the sky. As I went to an unfamiliar air carrier, it was not on any ocean or on land. It was as if it was just built recently! There were hundreds of planes and soldiers taking off and I was landed onto the station where I’m filled up for gas. They loaded me with plenty of food water and resources I felt like a cafeteria in the airports and I was sent of yet again dropping these supplies to a foreign army base. As the soldier bolted out of cover they were gnats attacking a sweaty athlete. They got the resources and went back into cover. I turned around and went to the air carrier again and my constant nightmare came back as hundreds of explosives. All of a Fox 3 sudden a hurricane approach and as all the soldiers boarded planes for cover the all said, “Man! It’s raining cats and dogs out there.” The storm passed in under an hour and as soon as my pilot got clearance we were off and ready to bomb the enemies. With out warning we are given Intel on the dictator moving to a safer location, the pilot says this copy that and we change our coordinates, our path is set to bomb the most dangerous and heavily guarded man in the world. To bomb him I would have to bomb, what looks like, billions of HUMAN BEINGS! As we approached the pilot told the bomber to ready the explosives, and in 3…2…1… FIRE the bombs were dropped and after the smoke cleared there were parts and people burning on the ground and worst of all, there were no survivors. The fly back to the air carrier, I felt like a snail, slow and leaving a trail of slime as I travel. As the soldiers board off of my plane the congratulate the soldier while I receive minimal recognition. They are going to throw me away like a useless piece of metal. Even though I was the war hero and was permanently changed into a museum for all to stare at me like I’m the pope. I still feel like a part of me is missing as it left me in the missiles that they dropped with no mercy. I ended the war and now none of my countries people has to di but I killed the same amount of people I’m as bad as a terrorist who isn’t hardened into a killing machine quite yet. At least I don’t have to ever go through the experience again. I can feel the footsteps of infants as they tell their parents they wish that they could fly not knowing that this airplane is a killer plane. Its been five years since the great war and I hear planes coming in overhead I see explosion and innocent lives being taken and finally I see nothing now and feel my body heating and being crushed and now I know all is lost.
