EAST TEXAS RIFLE & PISTOL CLUB
At the January 14, 2015 General Membership Meeting the following candidates submitted their
names for nomination in the 2015 ETRPC Officer Election. All nominees were approved by the
Board of Directors.
In March you will receive by mail, the election ballot with detail instructions on how to vote for
your choice of candidates. Please note that the President/Elected Range Officer and Vice
President candidates are running unopposed.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS CANDIDATE INFORMATION – 2015 ELECTION
Persuant to the Business Organizations Code, Title 2. Corporations, Chapter 22. Nonprofit
Corporations, Subchapter A. General Provisions, Officers, Sec. 22.231. Officers. (a) The officers
of a corporation shall include a president and a secretary and may include one or more vice
presidents, a treasurer, and other officers and assistant officers as considered necessary. Any
two or more offices, other than the offices of president and secretary, may be held by the same
person.
Candidate: Lewis Freeman
President/Elected Range

ETRPC Member: 8 yrs
My name is Lewis Freeman and I have been a member of ETRPC for 8 years. I currently live in
White Oak after having lived in Pine Tree for the previous 30 years. I spent the last 25 years of my
working career at Stemco; the last 15 as a multi department supervisor. I had the responsibility of
about 60 co-workers and my areas of responsibility resulted in budgeting for multimillion dollar
inventory and payroll. I am an avid shooter and currently run the International Defensive Pistol
Association (IDPA) matches at ETRPC and have had that responsibility for the past 3 years. I also
participate in Steel Challenge and United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) as time
allows. I compete in several state IDPA championship matches each year, the Nationals, and this
year the World Shoot. Currently I am a certified IDPA Safety Officer, NRA Certified Range Safety
Officer, and a NRA Pistol Instructor. In my "spare" time I assist with Pistol Packin' Mamas classes
teaching ladies how to properly and effectively shoot handguns. Since August 2012 I have filled in
as the club Range Officer as needed and currently hold that position. For a short period of time in
2013 I also served as Interim President of the club. I feel that my background will qualify me to
effectively serve as ETRPC President and Range Officer for the coming year. I am also a Veterran
of the United States Navy and a Lifetime member of the NRA.
Candidate: Jack Shattuck
Vice President
ETRPC Member: 30 + yrs
I have been a member of ETRPC for over 30 yrs and am a retired Airline Pilot. When active, I was
the Chief Pilot in Dallas and the Director of Flight Operations for the Airline In charge of the Federal
Flight Deck Officer program for the Airline. I have been affiliated with Gunsite Academy for 25 yrs
both as a student and as a Staff Instructor. I am a 45 yr member of NRA, an NRA Recruiter, an
NRA Instructor in Pistol and Personal protection 25 yrs, an NRA Range/Safety Officer, an IDPA
competitor for 20 yrs, an IDPA Range/Safety Officer, a US Army Veteran, an American Legion
Member, a 2nd Amendment Foundation Member, a National Association for Gun Rights member,
and a Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms member.
Candidate: Richard Schultz
Secretary/Treasurer Incumbent
ETRPC Member: 33 + yrs
I have been a member of ETRPC and the NRA for over 30 yrs and currently work for Eastman. I
currently serve on the ETRPC Board of Directors and hold the position of Club Secretary/Treasurer.
In 2014 I built, programmed and have maintained the Access Membership and Financial software
system for the range office. I was the 2004 ETRPC President, 2003 Vice President and 2002 Club
Range Safety Officer. I won the Texas State Rifle Association’s Service Rifle Championship in
2002, and the National Rifle Association Distinguished Rifleman award and am a two time
Member of the NRA’s Presidents 100 and I would like to continue serving as Club
Secretary/Treasurer.

ETRPC Member: 5 yrs
My name is Tim Hamilton. I have been a member of E.T.R.P.C. for 5 years. I have served the last 2
years as Vice-President. I enjoy shooting trap and 5 stand at the range and I would like the chance
to serve the E.T.R.P.C. as the Secretary. I was a member of the New London volunteer fire
department for 5 years staring at the age of 15, and have been a member of Overton Volunteer fire
department for the last 6 years. I served as a captain on the dept last year and currently serving as
a captain and secretary of the fire department.
