To fight against infectious diseases and cancers, it imagines and develops new approaches in the fields of diagnostics, immunotherapy, food safety and nutrition.. Institut Mérieux is a holding merging four main companies involved in in vitro diagnostics, immunotherapy/vaccines (both preventive and therapeutic), and food and water safety/nutrition/health. Institut Mérieux includes bioMérieux (in vitro diagnostics and industrial microbiology control), Transgene (immunotherapy, therapeutic vaccines, oncolytic viruses), Advanced Bioscience Laboratories, Inc. (ABL), (bioengineering and CMO), and Mérieux Nutrisciences (food safety/nutrition/health).The activities of Institut Mérieux are also closely associated with those of Fondation Mérieux which promotes sustainable research and health care development in the field of infectious diseases in emerging and developing .countries Institut Merieux’ strategic fields of interest are : infectious diseases, cancer, cardiovascular diseases and food and water safety/nutrition/health. Call type and title: The Mérieux Research Grants Institut Mérieux has launched the Mérieux Research Grants Programme to support innovation in its fields of interest at very early stages and seek for fertile partnerships with renowned scientists and medical doctors from academic and private research institutions worldwide. They are open in priority to basic, clinical-and/or technology-driven research projects in the field of the four main subsidiaries listed above, meaning in the field of infectious diseases (in particular microbiology), cancer, inflammatory diseases, and food and water safety/nutrition/health. Grant Applications should promote their potential in translation towards novel approaches for diagnosis and therapy in those fields of medicine and public health. Two types of Mérieux Research Grants are available: The “Advanced” Mérieux Research Grants provide a financial support from 100.000 euros to 200.000 euros for two years and are dedicated to very innovative projects. The "Starting” Mérieux Research Grants provide 40.000 euros for two years and are dedicated to very promising projects that will need further nurturing.
