Upon arrival, International Visiting Scholars must check in with the Director of Human Resources to verify their immigration status. If a Visiting Scholar’s tenure at another institution involves projects of a proprietary nature that may lead to potential conflicts of interest, the Visiting Scholar must sign a non-disclosure agreement (Approval of Visiting Scholars form) regarding information acquired during the visit to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Such intellectual property may consist of unpublished results, know-how, non-patentable information, patentable and/or other written or orally transmitted information. The Visiting Scholar agrees that he/she will transmit no intellectual property of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi acquired by the Visiting Scholar during the period of appointment. All technical reports containing technical information by the Visiting Scholar will be accompanied by an English translation, which will be authorized by the Host Faculty Member for transmittal. No other technical information will be transmitted or disclosed by the Visiting Scholar. If the work of the Visiting Scholar, or the facilities and equipment used to support that work, are supported by a grant or contract, the Visiting Scholar agrees to comply with the intellectual property provisions of that grant or contract. The Visiting Scholar agrees to hold Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and The Texas A&M University System, their Regents, officers, agents and employees, harmless from any loss, claim, damage, or liability of any kind arising out of or in connection with this Agreement, except to the extent that it is directly due to the negligent acts or omissions of any of the Regents, officers, employees or agents of the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
