Air spring systems strengthens three competences for "Engineering Next Level"
Beijing, May 2015. ContiTech Air Spring Systems will participate in 2015 China Beijing
International Exhibition on Buses, Trucks & Components (China National Convention Center,
Stand No. 4015) under the slogan of "Engineering Next Level". During the exhibition, the business unit will display convolution air springs, sleeve-type air springs and systems featuring lightweight, energy efficiency and eco-friendliness. Air springs made by ContiTech can be used in the suspension systems of heavy-duty trucks, trailers and buses as well as cab suspensions and driver's seats to ensure the comfort and safety of drivers and passengers, reduce damage to road surface, and diminish emission pollution.

Outstanding Performance
Be it in the support vehicles used in the Dakar Rally or on the roads of China, ContiTech air spring systems for trucks always offer optimal comfort. Heat-resistant air spring systems prove their worth in terms of performance and efficiency in buses in both Europe and the desert landscape of Abu
Dhabi. Air springs made by ContiTech not only are used in rail vehicles and industrial equipment, but also serve as systematic solutions for buses, trucks and trailers, which have set up new industry benchmarks in both durability and cost-effectiveness. The factories of ContiTech air spring systems in China provide local customers with outstanding performance in line with German quality standards and technical processes. "Rubber compounds with top quality are essential for making excellent products. The mixing center in Changshu which will be put into operation soon will enhance the core competitiveness of our air springs," added Axel Terbeck.

2015 marks the 20 th anniversary of ContiTech's presence in China. Before establishing production sites in China, ContiTech air spring Systems had entered into business cooperation with the country's bus manufacturers. To meet customers' ever-increasing demand, ContiTech has built factories for localized production and introduced German quality standards and production processes to China. Currently, the production site in Changshu has established several assembly lines and introduced state-of-the-art experimental and test equipment. The factory offers a complete range of products. One of ContiTech's core advantages is to develop products together with customers. For instance, the cold-resistant air springs for heavy-duty trucks can be used in low temperature of -55 °C. In addition, ContiTech teams up with China's truck companies to jointly develop air spring systems suitable for local truck markets.

Pursuing constant innovation, top quality and sustainable development reflects ContiTech's responsibility for the society, the environment and its users. The eco-friendly coating of the metal parts of air springs is free of hexavalent chromium. Power featuring the best anti-corrosion property and meeting the highest standards are sprayed to generate excellent antirust protection effects.
State-of-the-art materials and simulation techniques are applied to produce lightweight air spring couplings made of composite materials. With the use of such air spring couplings, a weight saving of up to 12 kg per driven axle can be realized, which helps vehicle manufacturers to meet Euro 6 and China IV emission standards.
In the future, ContiTech air spring systems will expand its sales, engineer and technical teams, develop more product specifications, enhance local capacity of providing comprehensive production services, and explore new aftermarket business to head for "Engineering the Next
Level".
