PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES
The Coordinator will be responsible for the operational delivering of the Digital Inclusion project at the
Bromley by Bow Centre including the development of online activities in partnership with local
residents and stakeholders. The Coordinator will be a vital and visible community resource, supporting
people to get online, complete online skills training and embed digital activities and learning across
Bromley by Bow Centre services.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
A. PROJECT DELIVERY
 Facilitate online activities and drop-in sessions at the Bromley by Bow Centre and at partner
organisations, in line with project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
 Work towards a weekly target in engaging new learners onto the programme in line with
project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
 Recruit and register people onto the digital inclusion project and support them to complete
online courses e.g. Online Basics and Being Healthy
 Provide high quality one-to-one and group support to people to go online and to take
advantage of the benefits that being online can offer to them

Provide information on local resources and services to support people to access additional
online courses, training and digital provision across the borough

Work with local stakeholders to integrate approaches, share knowledge and improve
outcomes for those accessing the digital inclusion project

In liaison with the Programme Manager actively contribute to the development of Bromley by
Bow Centre’s digital inclusion provision and strategy

Monitor and evaluate project engagement and attendance against agreed targets
B. VOLUNTEER TRAINING AND MANAGEMENT

Recruit and train Digital Inclusion Support worker and Digital Champions in line with project
KPIs

Provide day-to-day management of the Digital Inclusion Support worker and Digital Champions

Work with the Digital Inclusion Support worker and Digital Champions to a achieve weekly
target in engaging new learners onto the programme in line with project Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs)

Work with the Digital Inclusion Support worker and Digital Champions to support people
locally to complete online courses (e.g. Online Basics and Get Healthy) in line with project KPIs
C. MONITORING, REPORTING AND EVALUATION

Maintain effective monitoring and reporting systems, and produce timely and accurate reports
for the Digital Inclusion project in line with the contract and against agreed KPIs

Meet with and provide regular progress reports to the Programme Manager

Work with the Programme Manager to develop and implement approaches to evaluate the
Digital Inclusion project and its impact

Attend project, stakeholder and funder meetings as required
D. EXTERNAL PARTNERS AND COMMUNICATION

Develop and maintain effective relationships and communication with digital inclusion
partners

Develop new relationships with partners locally to open up opportunities for referrals into the
project and online provision

Raise awareness of the service and engage new clients through outreach, presentations and
events

Establish cross referral mechanisms within the Bromley by Bow Centre and partner
organisations

Participate in national campaigns in line with project KPIs

Recognise people’s needs for different methods of communication and delivery styles and
adapt accordingly
E. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Attend one-to-one meetings and performance appraisal meetings with the Programme
Manager

Undertake regular training for the development of the service and individual career
progression
F. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to Bromley by Bow Centre’s policies and procedures at all times, including Equality and
Diversity, Data Protection, Health and Safety, Lone Working, Confidentiality and Safeguarding

Ensure the service reflects the vision, mission and values of the Centre

Produce correspondence and perform administrative tasks

Undertake any other additional tasks as reasonably deemed appropriate by the Programme
Manager.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
QUALIFICATIONS

Educated to degree level or significant experience of delivering online training
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Experience of delivering high quality online training courses

Experience of working with people who are digitally excluded

Proven track record of delivering client focused services in line with project KPIs

Proven track record of monitoring and evaluating the impact of services

Experience of working with and managing volunteers

Experience of developing and maintaining partnerships with a range of stakeholders

Experience of working in a diverse and multi-racial environment
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of local and national digital inclusion strategies

Knowledge of Learn My Way online learning

Knowledge of social prescribing and how model works

Knowledge of NHS Choices and other online health resources
ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Ability to engage people effectively, on a one-to-one and in a group setting

Ability to develop and deliver quality services

Excellent communication, interpersonal, written and presentation skills, including
communicating with a variety of audiences

Excellent co-ordination and organisational skills, including ability to prioritise and plan own
workload, manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines

Ability to analyse data and reports and address these with appropriate actions

High level of computer literacy including applied knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel
and Outlook)
