Reauditioning will be arranged at least annually. Members must attend the Samworth Church Academy, Forest Town, Mansfield on Friday evenings (school terms) for a group singing lesson, for which a charge of £5 is made followed by a choir rehearsal each week or as arranged. All training choir members must also have a private singing lesson at least once a fortnight with one of our tutors. The cost of this at the moment is £18 per half-hour. Music and stage dresses will be supplied by the organisation. The Training Choir will participate in certain concerts with the main choir each year and others may be arranged. - Ann Irons, Director CANTAMUS GIRLS' CHOIR Director: ANN IRONS, BEd, LRAM Asst Director: ELAINE GUY, LRAM Vocal Tutors: LOUISE COLLETT, MMus, MOpera, PGCE, PGDip FREYA HALES, BMus, PGCE Treasurer: JOHN GUY, BSc, ARIB Accompanist: PHILIP ROBINSON, BMus Tickets & CD Sales: IVAN HASLAM, BSc Secretary: SHEILA HASLAM, Cert.Ed E-mail: sheilahaslam@ntlworld.com Cantamus Web-sites: www.cantamus.com, www.cantamus-update.com Facebook & Twitter Winners of: Choir of the World Competition (Llangollen Eisteddfod) BBC Sainsbury's Choir of the Year Competition (twice) Montreux International Choral Festival (double prize) Bela Bartok Contemporary Choral Festival, Debrecen, Hungary Miedzyzdroje Festival, Poland (with special citation) Llangollen International Eisteddfod (Choir of the World) Vienna Youth & Music Festival (Female Choirs Class) City of Vienna Trophy for outstanding choir in Festival Riva del Garda Grand Prix against 86 choirs from all over the world World Choir Olympics championships (Bremen 2004 & Xiamen 2006) Grand Prix ‘Voyage of Songs’ Competition,(Malaysia 2009) Championships - Youth Class and Sacred Music (European Games 2012) 4 Performing Right Society Awards Cantamus has been invited to represent Great Britain at many high profile international events both at home and abroad.
