The Wentworth Fellowship, a gift of Mr. Charles F. Green III, was established in 2001 and provides approximately
$24,000 annually to allow a select number of students to travel to sites, in America or abroad, associated with
literary authors and texts. The money awarded by the Wentworth fellowships is intended to help cover the cost of
travel and lodging, and the fellowships can be anywhere between $750 and $1,500, based on the project and
destination. It is the goal of the committee to award fellowships to as many deserving applications as possible.

Give a brief summary of your proposed travel, including principal destinations and dates (no more
than 100 words):
Include the following documents in the final application you put together in consultation with an
English faculty sponsor. This sponsor should know you and be able to advise you on your project.
• A project abstract (500 words) describing your project.
• A statement of projected expenses.
• A brief statement of evaluation / recommendation from an English department faculty mentor.
Submit all completed application materials as a Word document (a typed signature is fine) to your
faculty mentor who will forward them on to the Wentworth committee as a pdf file.
