Topic 1: Basic principles and organizational principles of patient
care in therapeutic department. Structure and function of the
therapeutic department. Definition of the role and place of patient
care in medical diagnostic process. Ethical and deontological
principles of forming a medical specialist. Key professional
responsibilities of junior medical staff in hospital departments.
Principles of professional subordination system doctor – nurse – nurse
assistant.
Main departments and auxiliary units therapeutic department.
Main departments and auxiliary units therapeutic department. The
concept of health-protective, hygienic and hospital regimes, features of
their keeping in therapeutic hospital units. Features of Admission
department in hospital, admission and referral of patients to specialized
units. Admission and registration of patients, completing of medical
records (journal admission of patients, medical history, statistical card).
Sanitary-hygienic regimen admission department, sanitary handling of
the patient. Rules of anthropometric studies. Transporting patients in
the ward profile.
General characteristics of the Internal medicine department, its
structure and functionality. The main duties of the younger nurse.
Organization of visiting patients. Providing sanitation regime in
department. Preparation and application of disinfectant solution.

Topic 2: Evaluation of the patient condition and the general rules
of basic indicators of its life (vital signs). Questioning and overview of
the patient. The role of questioning the patient in the diagnostic process.
Rules of patient questioning and summarizing the data. The sequence of
the overall review of the patient. Determination of the general state of
the patient. Evaluation of the patient's position in bed, his posture and
gait. Rules examination of the skin and mucous membranes.
Body temperature, rules for measuring and recording. Role in
providing temperature homeostasis of the organism. Methods of
measuring body temperature. Thermometers, their structure, storage
and disinfection. Methods of measuring body temperature mercury
thermometer. Modern thermometers - electric based on liquid crystals.
Type’s of temperature curves. Registration of body temperature and
temperature curves in the temperature charts. Caring for patients with
high fever in fever and cool.

Identification of major hemodynamics and respiratory indices.
Methods of study of pulse on radial artery. Pulse, its main properties.
Vessels available for the palpation. Basic rules to stop bleeding from
arterial and venous vessels, blending hemostatic tourniquet. Blood
pressure and its measurement rules on brachial artery. Normal blood
pressure. First aid for patients with a decrease and increase blood
pressure. The basic rules for determining frequency, depth and type of

Topic 3: Application of the main types of drugs.
The use of the main types of anesthetic drugs. Classification of drugs by
administration for the body of the patient. Forms of drugs. The role and
responsibilities of medical personnel in providing patients with
medication. Rules distribution of tablets and liquid drugs for oral
administration.
The concept of aseptic and antiseptic. The main methods of
parenteral drugs. Handling of tools after a single application. The
sterilization of medical instruments for repeated use: basic methods,
training tools for sterilization.
Parenteral drug use: methods and techniques of sterilization of
syringes and needles. Methods and techniques of intradermal,
subcutaneous and intramuscular injections. Intradermal test for
sensitivity to antibiotics. Methods and techniques of intravenous drip
and inkjet infusion. Possible complications.
Topic 4: Power of patients. The simplest physical therapy. Food
elderly persons in the context of incurable diseases. Indications for
artificial feeding of patients. Methods for cleaning intestines.
Basic principles. Dietary tables and individual diet. Feeding
seriously ill. The organization of clinical nutrition in hospital. The
mechanism of action in the body physiotherapy. Application jars of
mustard plasters, compresses, hot water bottles, blisters of ice.
Hirudotherapy.
The main indications and contraindications for their use. Rules
processing of jars, hot water bottles, blisters of ice after use Simple light
hydrotherapy procedures and rules processing baths and istrumentariyu
that was used during the procedure. Features of chamber cleaning
affected by physiotherapy. Features of physiotherapy for elderly and
senile. Patient care while taking physiotherapy and providing them with
the necessary first aid in case of complications.
Topic 5: General and special care for seriously ill and those who
are in agony.
Features general and special care for seriously ill, incurable patients and
those who are in agony of all ages in therapeutic practice. General rules
for the care of patients with bed regime, seriously ill and those who are
in agony. Providing comfortable position in bed, prevention of pressure
ulcers, personal hygiene, change of underwear and bed linen, ensuring
physiological stool.
The use of a bedpan and urinal. Application of tube enema. Types of
enemas, methods and techniques of they use, methods of disinfection
and storage equipment for enemas. Feeding critically ill patients with
severe bed regime. Parenteral method of artificial injection of food.
Nutrition of elderly and senile.
The concept of resuscitation. The simplest method and technique of

nose" chest compressions. The concept of clinical and biological death.

Topic 6. Emergency. First aid.
Specificity of first aid and resuscitation of the simplest incurable
patients. Getting to know the rules of handling dead man. Sudden death,
heatstroke, sunstroke, drowning, acute poisoning. Simple resuscitation,
CPR method "mouth to mouth" and chest compressions. Hardware
methods of reviving the body: artificial ventilation, electrical
defibrillation.
