DEVELOPING FUTURE LEADERS RECENTLY QUALIFIED TEACHERS LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME (RQTL) Do you have a teacher early in their career who has clear leadership potential that you want to develop? Then enrol them on the RQTL programme! Designed for potential leaders : In their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of teaching Based in Devon, Cornwall, Torbay or Plymouth. Who already have strong teaching ability Have excellent leadership potential Have ‘stand out’ personal and professional qualities. Who need to be nurtured and supported into their awareness of leadership and their perceptions of themselves as leaders. The Programme : Has been developed by six Teaching Schools from the South West jointly with the National College to recognise early leadership potential and create a cohort who will be the nucleus of the next generation of school leadership in Devon and Cornwall. What would make me an outstanding leader? How do effective leaders create a climate and culture of success? How does distributed leadership impact on whole school improvement? How does quality leadership enable change? Can I become a leader? What qualities and thinking do I need to do? How will I become an effective leader? One night, one day to meet other potential leaders from different schools to explore qualities and challenge perceptions of leadership Three Questions to explore within 3 different School Settings on three half days Quality coaching conversations to support RQTLs in their thinking and feelings about leadership Half day conference to support RQTLs into leadership posts Cost : Free (Normal cost £1,000 but is offered free of charge to high calibre candidates who are also able to attract a £300 bursary on completion.
