Cargill Value Added Meats Retail facilities utilize state-of-the-art beef, pork and turkey processing capabilities to deliver high-quality meat products to our partners. Our retail customers come to us from traditional grocers, supermarkets and warehouse clubs to provide their meat and deli needs. An Environmental, Health and Safety Intern may be placed in various positions within EHS during their internship, which generally lasts no longer than 3 months. As an Intern, you will be integrated into the day-to-day working environment with opportunities to collaborate with our EHS team and will be assigned project(s) to complete. These project(s) will consist of opportunities that Cargill is currently facing in our industry. Interns will be responsible for the results of their projects and will be required to give appropriate project status updates as well as give a final presentation of findings. Reporting to the EHS or Safety Manager, this position presents exposure to the development, implementation, training, updating and auditing of a comprehensive EHS program. You will experience and gain knowledge of the training process; safety and environmental management system; ergonomics, process safety management, and contractor safety programs; environmental permits; energy and water efficiency; as well as corporate responsibility initiatives. You will learn the importance of compliance with both internal and regulatory standards and how the location complies with the corporate EHS policy. Your experiences will allow you to personally make a contribution to promote and champion a culture of proactively, accountability, stakeholder engagement and sustainability in the location’s EHS process.
