Theme For The Conference
The overall theme of the 2014 State Conference is to present relevant and timely information to advance the participant’s coaching skills and business, both today and tomorrow .
Our Request For Proposal
ICF Michigan is requesting proposals for presenters that can provide either real, concrete, practical tools and sensible information that participants can use today to enhance their coaching skills and business or presenters that can provide insight into the future of the coaching profession.
Conference Purpose and Desired Outcomes
Purpose: Participants will take with them specific tools to enhance their business immediately or ideas they can implement into their business planning and goal setting.
Desired Outcome: ICF Michigan values the development of education, networking, collaboration, community, and resources. Your presentation should reflect these values.
PROGRAM FORMAT
The program for the one-day conference provides multiple structured learning formats including featured speakers, exhibits and breakout presenter sessions. (For purposes of ease, speakers and breakout presenters will be referred to as Presenters). Conference participants have various levels of experience, from brand new coaches to seasoned professionals.

CONFERENCE SYNOPSIS

PRESENTER’S RESPONSIBILITIES
Presenters will instruct participants on a coaching or business-building themed topic in a dynamic, interactive style
Presenters will provide information, materials and resources that coaches can use today and/or guide them towards tomorrow
Breakout sessions will be designed to support the conference purpose, be action oriented and resource rich for new or experienced coaches
Presenters will conduct 60 minute session for approximately 30
– 40 participants
Presenters will provide all necessary resources for participants to be able to fully engage in the experience (any equipment, instruments, handouts, materials, etc.)
Presenters will coordinate, as needed, with the ICF Michigan State Conference Planning
Committee regarding possible assistance with equipment needs for the session
Ensure that the session is not perceived as an “infomercial” for your company and that you do not sell your company’s products/services to participants before or during the session,
Following the session, distribution of flyers and business cards are permitted
Presenters are responsible for their travel, hotel and other session related expenses
(excluding AV equipment rental)
RFP PROCESS
If you are interested in being a Speaker or Breakout Presenter, we invite you to submit a proposal to Dr. Lori Kerlin at lkerlin@progressive-dev.com by July 31, 2014.
You must use the form provided at the end of this document, RFP Details, to submit your proposal.
All proposals must be aligned with the ICF Michigan organization values and contribute to the conference theme, “Today and Tomorrow’s Coach”
Proposals will be reviewed and considered for selection by members of the Conference
Planning Committee with potential input from the ICF Michigan Board.
Selections will be based on sessions that are topically aligned with business building, are engaging, action oriented, and of interest to new and/or experienced coaches.
Once proposals are selected, and all respondents notified, those selected will be contacted by a
Conference Planning Committee Member for review of their session and possible application to
ICF for CCEU’s (Continuing Coach Education Units).
The selected Speakers and Breakout Presenters will receive free admission to the ICF Michigan
2014 State Conference and lunch, refreshments are provided.
Are you applying to be a Speaker or Breakout Presenter? The Speaker will be talking to the entire conference, while Breakout Presenters will address the breakout audiences. The
Speakers topic should be applicable to coaches of all skill levels. Breakout Presenters may include topics that pertain to specific niches or coach’s skill set.
