Objectives 1. To examine Colombian University Teachers’ current pedagogical and research practices and how they are connected to EFL teaching adjacent contexts. 2. To identify University ELT teachers’ perceptions about the role of research in the University context and its academic impact. 3. To explore Colombian University English Teachers’ role in the context of Colombia Bilingüe 2019 Topic Strands Proposal submissions must consider the following topics: The role of English teachers in a bilingual context Bilingualism and Cross-cultural Education 1 Biliteracy and early Biliteracy. The role of university English Teachers and the EFL/Bilingual Curriculum Development. English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in a Bilingual Context. English for Academic Purposes. TYPE OF PRESENTATION In the conference program, each abstract will be labeled with the following descriptions so participants will know what they are signing up for in the Concurrent Sessions. Please indicate the type of your presentation in the space provided overleaf WORKSHOP. In a workshop, the presenter works with the group, helping them to develop a specific teaching technique or a hands-on activity LECTURE. A lecture discusses and describes something the presenter is doing or has done in relation to either theory or practice. Participation from the audience is usually limited to questions and discussion during or at the end of the lecture. DEMONSTRATION. Rather than describing or discussing, a demonstration shows a technique for teaching. The presenter’s statement of the theory underlying the technique is usually brief. The rest of the time is used for showing, rather than telling RESEARCH REPORT. A report which discusses ongoing research; includes presentation of the problem, methodology, implications of research, and so on.
