WORK EXPERIENCE:
Translator (English to Greek and Greek to English):
I have informally translated newspaper and magazine articles, students’ essays and CVs, academic papers for undergraduate students. (2004 till now)
As a translator in Sandy Konstantinidis’ Foreign Language School, I used to be responsible for translating material for use in classes and throughout the school, for instance, for promotional purposes. I also contributed to the translation of the school newspaper.

English language teacher:
As a teacher in Sandy Konstandinidis’ Foreign Language School, I taught English as a foreign language to students of different ages, from many different national backgrounds and at all levels. I was also involved in selection of class material, organising events and activities for young learners and managing the class timetables.

As a translator in Nana Antoniou’s Foreign language school, I translated newspaper and magazine clippings and literary passages (as well as other material for use in class). (2005)

TRANSLATION AND OTHER GENERAL SKILLS:
At university, I have taken a variety of translation courses and was introduced to the theory and application of translation in different texts (written and spoken). I have excelled in translation and political discourse, translation and critical discourse analysis (legal, political, media texts), translation and idiomatic language, literary translation, translation and humour etc.
Professionally, I have worked as an English Language Teacher and as an Italian Language Teacher in two language schools in Greece. As an English teacher I was responsible for material selection, marking and teaching English as a foreign language to students at all levels. As a translator in the same language school, I translated articles and materials which were destined for use in the class. I also translated and editted the school newspaper from Greek to English. As an Italian teacher I taught Italian as a foreign language to intermediate students and I translated newspaper articles and class material. To add to that, I have informally translated academic papers of university students
(Greek to English and vice versa) and various documents as well.
Apart from political, educational, legal and literary discourse, I have a lot of experience in translating media texts. Translating news discussions and interviews is an essential component of my doctoral studies and was part of my MSc projects and dissertation.

Argentine tango dancing, learning languages, various accents of Germanic and romance languages, music (tango, rock, world music), belly dancing, swimming, films, fashion, travelling, meeting and socialising with people from different cultures, literature (especially novels and poetry), writing, translating, exploring the language of advertisements and magazines, dictionaries, philosophy
(mostly ancient Greek), Argentina- lover, open to new things.
