Meeting Called to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairwoman Ruth Ealing at 7:49 pm. Roll
was made and quorum established. A Moment of Silence was observed.

Old Business
a. NC Arts Council Grant: The grant needs electronic submission. The password has
already been setup by Interim Administrator Gwen Richardson. Karen Harley made
corrections and some money line items were adjusted. The money if the grant is
approved will go to the current school administrator at the time it is approved. Grant
money cannot be used to pay staff members. The grant needs the number of School
Board members and the number of HSTS staff members including the number of full
time Art teachers to be added. The grant was already approved by the School Board to
be submitted with changes.
A motion was made by Chief Rev. Ronald Richardson to officially submit the cover letter
and NC Artist in Residency Grant. Seconded by Glenda Evans. Motion Passed.
b. The ad went out for the school administrator position. Several other positions still need
to be posted. The Chairwoman sent the letter to DPI with staff changes and updates.
Think about meeting with DPI to discuss current school issues.
A motion was made by Glenda Evans to enter into closed session @ 8:04 PM. Seconded by
Sylvia Richardson. Motion Passed.

V.
Announcements
Interim Asst. Administrator Jessica Williams gave an update on e-rate. She spoke with
Crystal at Acadia and the e-rate money has not yet been received. Also Harold Williams
investigated some charges by Century link for internet and they owe the school $48,000.00
Crystal at Acadia has cleared up the budget issues for January 2014.
The lottery and Kindergarten Registration is coming up.
The Tribal meeting March 7, 2014 will include the Princess election. Sylvia Richardson’s
daughter is running. Please support her.
Remember March 3, 2014 is the deadline for School Board Seats, Tribal Chair Rev. Mike
Richardson is aware that the open seats are only for Council members and Staff.
Prom is April 12 and Graduation is Friday May 30 at 6pm.
A motion was made by Chief Rev. Ronald Richardson to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by
