Georgia Association of Student Councils Most Outstanding Projects Competition We encourage all schools to enter projects in either the High School or Middle School division. Schools may enter projects in six categories maximum, but only one project entry per category is allowed. Schools are not required to attend convention in order to be eligible for awards. Please use the GASC Most Outstanding Project Official Entry Form or the online form provided by the GASC Advisor Liaisons. This form may be duplicated and used as many times as needed. Up to two awards for each category will be given. ∙ Outstanding Community Service Project--Outreach: Projects designed to serve and make a positive impact in your community at large (ex: Adopt-A-Road, community park clean-up, volunteering at a nursing home, etc.) ∙ Outstanding Community Service Project--Fundraising: Projects designed to raise funds for specific charities, projects that send money for disaster relief, or projects that supply money to buy goods/services that help people in need, etc. ∙ Outstanding School Service Project: Projects designed to improve your school or provide a service to the school or group within the school family only on school grounds (ex: clean up school grounds, help out another club, tutoring peers at your school, RSVP program. etc.) ∙ Outstanding School Spirit and Pride Project: Projects designed to promote school spirit or encourage pride in self, pride in class, pride in school, and pride in community (ex: spirit club, spirit wars, spirit week, spirit favor give-a-ways, etc.) ∙ Outstanding Citizenship/Patriotism Project: Projects designed to promote the duties and values of citizenship and patriotism (ex: voter registration, Adopt-A-Soldier, 9/11 Remembrances, Veterans’ Day activities, recognition/care packages for troops, etc.) ∙ Outstanding Fundraising Project: Projects designed to raise funds in support of Student Council, Student Council projects, or the school (ex: selling candy, Rock-a-thon, etc.) ∙ Outstanding Leadership Project: Projects designed to teach leadership, enhance leadership skills, or to practice leadership skills (ex: leadership assemblies, council member lock-in, etc.) ∙ Outstanding Student Recognition Project: Projects designed to honor or recognize students for excellence (as an individual or group level) (ex: student of the month, birthday recognition, honor roll recognition, student appreciation week, etc. ∙ Outstanding Student Relations Project: Projects designed to improve relationships among the student body (ex: mix-it-up day, club fair, class socials, etc.) ∙ Outstanding Recruitment and Advertising: Projects designed to encourage new membership for Student Council and/or publicize Student Council events (flyers, posters, event calendars, etc) ∙ Outstanding Faculty/Staff Recognition & Relations Project: Projects designed to honor, recognize or show appreciation for faculty/staff and/or build better relationships between staff and students (as an individual or group level) (ex: faculty/staff member of the month, teacher appreciation gifts, teacher appreciation week, socials, faculty newsletter, etc.) ∙ Outstanding Website: Councils who maintain and run websites that are used to inform schools and communities about their council news and business (include details from the site) GASC Most Outstanding Projects Competition Official Entry Form ENTRY RULES Entries must be on this Official Project Entry Form. A school may enter one project per category in six different categories. Schools are not required to attend convention in order to be eligible for awards. ∙ Each entry is limited to this form and a one page description, with the exception of the website category. Please include a description of the project on the following page. ∙ Eligible projects must have been completed after the previous GASC convention. ∙ Entries must be submitted via e-mail as a PDF or Microsoft Word file format. ∙ The decision of the judges will be final. ∙ Any entry not prepared according to the rules will be disqualified. ∙ First place winning projects may only be entered every four years by the same school.
