BYLAWS/VOLLEYBALL 11.0 Volleyball will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Fr/Soph matches will start at 3:45p.m., with Varsity to follow. 11.0-1 The schedule will be a 15-game schedule. Each school will play the other schools in the conference three times in a Triple Round-Robin format. 11.0-2 Division championship will be decided by games played against the schools in a school’s won division. 11.1 Starting practice date will follow the Sac-Joaquin Section guidelines and start on the same date as football preconditioning. 11.2 WARM-UPS: Minimum times allowed for Fr/Soph and Varsity matches will be as follows: five (5) minutes shared; five (5) minutes for home team; five (5) minutes for visitors; 2 minutes serving together. A coin toss will precede the warm-ups with the winner of the coin toss hitting first. 11.3 Teams are limited to 27 contacts per season (San-Joaquin Section Rule 519.1 and SCAC General Rule 0.10). A team may participate in no more than three (3) 930 tournaments per season with each counting as two (2) contacts. All scrimmages will be considered contacts. 11.4 All schools will use official net and balls as defined by the C.I.F. Rule Book. The official conference ball to be used for all matches is the Tachikara SV Gold, all white. 11.5 The three-ball system will be used during varsity matches. Home court is responsible for seeing this is done properly. 11.6 There will be two (2) officials as provided by our local official’s association, or if necessary, by the Section Commissioner of Officials. 11.7 COMPETITION 11.7-1 C.I.F. Rules govern play. 11.7-2 Triple Round-Robin schedule will apply. 11.7-3 Games will be played to 25 points using Rally Scoring. The third JV game and the fifth Varsity game will be played to 15 points. 11.8 11.9 11.7-4 Fr/Soph teams will play best the three (3) games and the Varsity will play best of five (5) games. The conference champion will be eligible for Sac-Joaquin Section Playoffs. Seeding will be determined by Power Ratings. Power Ratings will determine other conference representation in Sac-Joaquin Section Playoffs. 11.10 Coaches will send their schedules to the Sac-Joaquin Section Office prior to the beginning of conference competition. 11.11 Coaches will report all non-conference results to the Sac-Joaquin Section Office. 11.12 Coaches will report all non-conference results to the Daily Republic Sport Department. The Conference representatives will forward weekly results to the Sac-Joaquin Section Office. 11.13 ALL-CONFERENCE SELECTIONS 11.13-1 Tiebreaker a. Head-to-head competition. b. Descending head-to-head competition within the tie. c. If still tied, the team that did not go to the playoffs last will go. d. If still tied after the above procedures the team(s) seeded higher in the previous playoffs will be eliminated as needed. e. Coin Toss 11.14 The All-Conference meeting(s) will be held on the Monday following the conclusion of conference play at the school of the conference representative. 11.15 The Libero jersey shall be of a contrasting color. The individual school’s opposite colored jersey is appropriate for the Libero. 11.16 Each team will provide a linesman during the JV game. The linesman will be either a Varsity player or coach. The linesman will be assigned on side of the court and remain on that side the entire match. Each team will provide a linesman, which will be a JV player or coach, for the Varsity match. The linesman will be assigned a side and remain on that side the entire match. 11.17 A 3-ball system will be used for all conference contests at the Varsity level.
