Your narrative must define the elements of music (at least 3) and explain why each material was
used to represent each element.
Why did you use the materials you used and make this design?
Music Vocabulary:
Pitch: how high or how low

Form: the way it is organized
Dynamics: how loud or how soft
Texture: the way the instruments interact

Principle of design: Pattern
For my weaving project, I picked the song “Live. Love & Laughter” by: Donavon
Frankenreiter. I picked this song because it is a happy song and upbeat.
For my project, I represented the upbeat rhythm by using the white shoe lace with the
tight weave texture. The dynamics are pretty loud so, I picked the green yarn and added the
beads throughout my piece. The pitch is in the middle so; I picked a neutral color in using the
beige yarn. There is a strong drum beat that you can hear for the whole song, I picked the yarn
with the visible texture that would stand out and added the beads throughout my weaving.
There is also a guitar that you hear layered with the drum so, I used the blue for that. I repeated
the blue in my weaving to make 2 layers.
I picked this design to match the music and the feelings I get. The song is relaxed (soft
tones of color), its happy and I think the beads are happy, and the strong textures represent the
instrumentation. The color pattern is ABCDAB.
