It is the last day of fifth grade for me and my classmates. At my school, we always have a graduation for the fifth graders who are leaving to go to middle school. While I am sitting here waiting for my name to be called so I can go on the stage, I am thinking about my favorite memory from elementary school.

I was in second grade when we did a class science project about windmills.
It was so much fun! My teacher allowed us to use all kinds of materials, like felt, tissue paper and tin foil. We researched and experimented to find out what makes the best windmill. At the end, we tested our windmills to see which windmill could pick up the most weight. We had so much fun!
While I am sitting in my chair, I start to cry a little bit.
My mom looks over at me and she says, “It’s okay to be sad! But just think of all the new adventures you are going to have in middle school!”
I hope she is right!
