The HEIDI Award Award Purpose The Hampton Roads Diversity and Inclusion Consortium (HRDIC) Award recognizes and honors the outstanding contributions and achievements of local businesses and organizations. Individuals presented with this award represent businesses or organizations that exemplify diversity and inclusion practices and demonstrate results in their workforce, workplace and marketplace. Recipients of the HRDIC Award set the standards of excellence for the Hampton Roads Communities and the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Award Application & Process The Application is free and open to all local, state, federal, and nonprofit organizations/businesses in operation for at least two (2) years and who are responsible for achieving goals for the entire organization; or within an organization, business, or agency that represents a specific line of business or business unit. Membership with the Hampton Roads Diversity and Inclusion Consortium is not required. Individuals who represent their organization, business, or agency may complete and submit an online application that evaluates their organization over the past 12 months (2014). Award applicants will be evaluated on contributions and achievements in five categories: Demonstrated Results Related to Diversity and Inclusion including testimonials Demonstrated Management Commitment to Enforcing Policies or Standards Related to Diversity and Inclusion Measurement and Accountability; and Communication and Education on Diversity and Inclusion Issues Organization Engagement at all levels, such as Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) Responses to essay type questions should not exceed 50 words. All parts of the application must be completed in its entirety and submitted to HRDIC2014@gmail.com by August 28, 2015. The Hampton Roads Diversity and Inclusion Consortium (HRDIC) Award Application consists of the following six questions: How has your organization improved or benefited from its diversity and inclusion efforts? What measures does your organization use to gauge improvement as it pertains to diversity and inclusion? What systems or programs does your organization currently have in place that demonstrate exemplary diversity and inclusion results? In what ways are employees at all levels engaged with promoting diversity and inclusion efforts? How has your organization been recognized in the past for its exemplary diversity and inclusion efforts? How does your organization evaluate or assess management’s accountability as it pertains to diversity and inclusion? Three local, state, federal, or nonprofit organizations will receive their awards at the 2015 Eastern Virginia Regional Diversity & Inclusion Conference Luncheon at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel & Conference Center on October 20, 2015.
