Mathematics Department Lower Sixth Scheme of Work Main text books – Edexcel Modular Mathematics range of text books (Pearson). The text book is bought by pupils. Pupils must own a full Maths set and scientific calculator which should be brought to each lesson. This equipment can be provided for pupils if they require it for a charge. The AS course is completed at the end of the spring term. The first Mechanics module begins in the Spring Term. Pupils who have been identified to take Further Mathematics will have additional schemes of work to complete for the end of the Spring Term. Pure Mathematics (Core 1 & Core 2) and Statistics (Statistics 1) and Mechanics (Mechanics 1) are taught ahead of the national GCE examinations in the Summer term. A2 work begins in the summer term. Pieces of homework are set after each lesson. There is also an expected amount of private study.
