Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) join hands to enhance Employability of Youth NSDC to help RSLDC provide outcome based trainings, assessments and certification based on National Occupational Standards (NOS) for the RSLDC sponsored training programs RSLDC targets to skill 13 lakh youth by 2018, through empanelled training partners across the state New Delhi / Jaipur; 17 October, 2014: Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) have joined hands to enhance the employability of the youth in Rajasthan by moving the skilling activities to industry driven and outcome based trainings, assessments and certification aligned to National Occupational Standards (NOS), set by NSDC approved Sector Skill Councils (SSCs). RSLDC and NSDC will jointly decide the sectors and courses to be aligned to the industry defined standards set by SSCs. NSDC will also provide its resources in holding regular workshops, training the trainers, capacity building and curriculum alignment. The landmark MoU was signed by Gaurav Goyal, MD, RSLDC and Dilip Chenoy, MD & CEO, NSDC in presence of Shri. M. L. Mehta, Chairman RSLDC Mr. Gaurav Goyal, MD, RSLDC said, “NSDC has played a pivot role in aligning vocational training programs with industry requirement across various state governments. This engagement with them will shrink the demand-supply gap of skilled manpower in Rajasthan and help us reap the benefits of our demographic dividend.” Commenting on this partnership, Dilip Chenoy, MD & CEO, NSDC said, “We are pleased to support RSLDC for integrating their vocational training programs with industry recognized standards. This will play an important role in enhancing the employability of trainees and help them transform their lives. We look forward to replicate this model in other states as well.” Post completion of training, these SSCs will conduct the assessments and issue joint certification with RSLDC to every trainee successfully attaining pass marks as per the guidelines jointly issued by RSLDC, NSDC and SSCs. From time to time, RSLDC and NSDC will review and consider introducing new sectors and courses as per the demand of the industry under other vocations. NSDC and SSCs will also facilitate placements for candidates trained under this program. With this partnership, there will also be an alignment of RSLDC’s Technical Portal and NSDC Skill Development Management System (SDMS), to streamline assessment and monitoring processes. About RSLDC Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation (RSLDC) have been established in the state of Rajasthan to carry forward the skill development initiatives in a coordinated manner. The corporation works under the guidance of RMOL (Rajasthan Mission on Livelihood) chaired by Hon’ble CM of Rajasthan. The Corporation envisions that by the end 2018 about 13 lakh youth of the state who do not want to, or cannot, due to any reason including financial, pursue formal general education, would have fair choices to acquire skills that are relevant to the employers, at a reasonable cost and within reasonable distance from their residence and would have the facility to obtain professional counselling in making good choices, based upon their interest and aptitude and also employment potential of the skill and would also be facilitated in obtaining placement / employment after acquiring certification. To achieve this, the Mission will integrate efforts of various departments of the State and Central Government organizations engaged in providing skill development training and make available employment oriented and placement linked training in vocational skills to 13 lacs youth in the age group of 16 to 35 in next five years.
