The Invisible Scholar Book Scholarship for Unaccompanied Homeless youth The Invisible Scholar Book Scholarship offers a book scholarship worth five hundred dollars (approximately 250$ each semester) for a deserving high school senior or current college student who is currently experiencing homelessness. They must be from Massachusetts or currently attend school in the state. The board of directors of Samaritans Steps Inc. will review all applications and determine a scholar. To apply, please complete the accompanying form and return it with the following: Your most recent grades/transcript. (Unofficial ones are acceptable) Two letters of recommendation professional/personal/academic (your mentor, pastor, coach, teacher, guidance counselor, etc.). These cannot include your parent or guardian. Letter of acceptance to a college (two-year or four‐year colleges are acceptable). Proof of MA residency or a letter from an advocate or case worker A 300-400 word essay when you had to show courage A one-page biography about yourself Deadline: Your application and other supporting paperwork is due June 20th, 2016, and should be mailed to: Samaritans Steps Inc.
