CLASS TITLE: CRIMINAL JUSTICE COMMUNICATION LIAISON
ALLOCATION FACTOR(S)
This is independent work communicating selected criminal justice information data as required by
state statute.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Maintains a cumulative history relative to law enforcement agencies, public inquiries of
information, and policies and procedures pertaining to the maintenance and use of the
information.
Interprets all rules, procedure manuals and policies related to the maintained information and
its use.
Maintains liaison with local, state and national criminal justice agencies, other criminal justice
agencies outside of the State of Florida, state certified criminal justice training schools and noncriminal justice agencies and the public at large by means of telephone, terminal,
correspondence and personal contact.
Supports criminal justice representatives and all individuals inquiring on the information
maintained.
Schedules applicants for departmental examinations to include requesting class schedules from
training schools, scheduling dates and facilities, developing examination schedules, generating
applicant admission slips and preparing confirmation packages to applicants/certified training
schools.
Assists agencies, individuals and/or state certified criminal justice training schools in resolving
problems relative to information requests and interpretation of provided information.
Provides support to local agencies regarding information collected and maintained.
Maintains logs on all criminal justice data disseminated and status of all requests for
information.
Maintains liaison with all information systems components to assure that corrective action on
records are completed as errors become known.

Scores answer sheets for departmental examinations to include electronic processing of subtest
within each examination and manual handling of those answer sheets incorrectly completed
and rejected.
Presents methods of accessing criminal justice information to groups of users through
individual conversations, formal speeches, correspondence and newsletter articles.
Performs other work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Knowledge of law enforcement telecommunication system.
Ability to operate video and telecommunications terminals and other office equipment.
Ability to develop, implement, coordinate or evaluate the criminal justice certification
programs.
Ability to monitor criminal justice program activities.
Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to read and interpret law enforcement data.
Ability to read and interpret Florida Statutes, Commission Rules, and Divisional Policy and
Procedures.
Ability to follow complex coding instructions.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in
criminal justice; or
A high school diploma or its equivalent and five years of criminal justice experience.
Vocational/technical training in the area of law enforcement, secretarial science or data
processing, or any college coursework from an accredited college or university can substitute at
the rate of 30 semester, 45 quarter or 720 classroom hours per year of experience for up to two
years of the required five years of criminal justice experience.
