Participant Group Kit Contents (p. 36-37, Maker Day Toolkit 2)
Updated: 01 Nov 2015
Participant Group Kit Contents (Note: 1 Kit per Group of 4 Participants)
Participant Group Kits are used in all types of Maker Days (simple prototyping, fabrication,
appropriate technologies). Depending on your budget and your access to consumable items, the
content of these kits may easily vary. The list below is what we have suggested to organizers of
Maker Days (2013-2015).
Note: For a group of 40 participants, we have estimated $400.00 for
 Participant Group Kits (10 kits),
 Pantry (extra items from kits and consumables)
 Tool Station (tool purchases as suggested)
Participant Group Kits
Some consumable items are less expensive when purchased in bulk… anything not used in
Participant Group Kit becomes part of Pantry (p. 38, Maker Day Toolkit 2) for Maker Day with
Simple Prototyping (p. 14, Maker Day Toolkit 2).

Tip: Before you start to shop, create your shopping list by store …
 Combine all the tables of items you will be purchasing into one table
 Consider where you will be purchasing items in your area
 Add store names in ‘Suggested Sources’ (column 3)
 Re-sorting your table by ‘Suggested Source’ (column 3)…
Thanks to Drew and Zale from Princess Margaret Secondary School, Surrey. They
shopped for 90 participants for a ‘fabrication’ Maker Day at their school.
