This is now a firm event, enjoyed by all and one that brings in much needed funds – this time to feed the ponies with hay during the winter months! There were 50 of us and just over £700 was raised. Hollie Thubron again entertained us with some songs, including some she wrote herself. Anne thanks everyone for their generosity in making the evening such a success and the Rajasthan for hosting the event. Mojibul Hoque was presented with a certificate for his support for us. The autumn term has been very successful with all our riders working towards independence. There has been a great improvement and a lot of effort towards this has been given by our wonderful volunteer and of course our ponies. Sadly we did have to cancel a couple of sessions because of the weather. We do not do this lightly but it is extremely important that we have a safe environment for our riders. 3 riders have left us this term Tom, James and Ryan. Always very sad to say good bye but it has been a pleasure to have them at Bank Farm. . Welcome back to Kay’s daughter Roisin and her partner Adam. Adam can be seen with the dung beetle clearing the fields on many Saturdays! Reed and Emma have started their training as Group Coaches which is very exciting and Hollie will start hers next term. We are very lucky to have 3 young people prepared to give such a vast about of time and energy. They will all have our support. Always a pleasure to welcome our new volunteers and riders and I hope they will enjoy their time with us. Due to the predicted weather during January and early February we will be starting again after ½ term so it just leaves me to say have a great Christmas and New Year and please tick if you are coming on the 28th February 2015. Our Intrepid band set off on Tuesday 11th ably driven by Anne – no mean feat with us lot on board! After just one pit stop for essentials we made Liverpool in time for lunch after which we ‘did’ the cultural bit and went round Liverpool’s two very impressive Cathedrals. Having booked into our hotel [hooray for satnavs] we got ready for the pre-AGM evening meal with the other attendees at the racecourse. The following morning saw us back at Aintree for an interesting and informative day with ofcourse the arrival of our president HRH The Princess Royal at lunchtime. After lunch we had the President’s Address following which she made the awards and presentations. The day was bought to a close by Sam Orde, RDA Chairman and then we made our way home. The return journey was somewhat longer due to heavy traffic and road works but we got there eventually. Thanks to all who arranged this AGM and Anne for driving. Liz Pleass
