CORPORATE and MAJOR DONOR FUNDRAISING MANAGER PROSTATE CANCER RESEARCH CENTRE JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Senior Fundraiser Responsible to: CEO Responsible for: Development of corporate fundraising Acquisition of major gifts Location: Britannia House, 7 Trinity Street, London SE1 1DB The Prostate Cancer Research Centre (PCRC) raises funds for research aiming to improve the quality of life and survival of men with advanced prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men. Over 10,000 men die of the disease in the UK each year and the money you raise will fund research aiming to improve their survival. PCRC funds world class research aiming to develop new and more effective treatments. PCRC is a small but growing charity. You will join the CEO John Masters, the Finance Officer Rozila Bansal and the Challenge Events Manager Kerry Hulf and a supportive Board of Trustees. We are looking for someone with experience who wants to spread their wings and be responsible for and develop corporate and major donor fundraising at PCRC. MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE: To develop corporate and major gift fundraising. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: CORPORATE Write a corporate fundraising strategy Identify and secure new corporate partnerships Identify and secure “charity of the year” opportunities Identify and secure initiatives such as employee fundraising, sponsorship, donations and gifts in kind Work with challenge events manager to identify new opportunities Act as ambassador, representing PCRC at external events MAJOR GIFTS Write a major donor strategy Identify, cultivate and steward major donors Produce prospect research profiles as required Develop compelling cases for individual donors Prepare and deliver tailored letters, reports and responses to major donors Manage and service the committee organising the next Horizon Dinner in April 2017 Develop relationships with the members of the committee and Trustees, tapping into their networks and generating leads for the other roles GENERAL Develop budgets, financial analyses and business cases as required Prepare monthly reports Attend meetings as required Support and attend challenge events PERSON SPECIFICATION ESSENTIAL At least 3 year’s experience in one or more of the relevant fundraising sectors Proven track record of managing donor relationships and attracting significant income Demonstrable experience of researching and developing fundraising opportunities Knowledge of corporate sector and writing corporate partnership briefs Highly motivated self-starter Excellent verbal and written communication skills Accuracy and attention to detail Ability to relate to people from all backgrounds and sustain relationships Confident interacting with HNW individuals Good time management and organisational skills Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic, persuasion and negotiating skills Strategic approach with effective prioritisation Able to develop and manage budgets IT proficient DESIRABLE Experience of working with a fundraising database Experience of recruiting and working with volunteers Understanding of prostate cancer and scientific research Member of the Institute of Fundraising Further Information: If you have any questions, please phone the CEO John Masters on 0207-8481744 To apply: Please apply online with your CV and a covering letter explaining how you meet the person specification.
