Commercial Lawyer
Role Purpose
In line with the Instant Group’s rapid expansion plan, we are looking for a motivated Commercial Lawyer to
join our team. Working exclusively within our legal team you
will be responsible for supporting the
General Counsel on all legal matters, and specifically in dealing with issues pertaining to business
transactions, client agreements and contracts.
We’re looking for someone who is an energetic, resilient and motivated individual who enjoys working in a
fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities








Handle a wide range of commercial contracts from drafting through to negotiation and
finalization in the UK, US and Asia.
These commercial contracts include client outsourcing and service agreements, vendor
agreements, standard terms, joint ventures, partnerships, etc.
Minimise risks and manage any disputes that arise as a result of breach of contract.
Advise management of contractual rights and obligations, provide clarification of contract terms
and conditions
Establish and maintain excellent working relationships within the organisation to ensure that
advice is consistently sought by colleagues when needed.
Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as suppliers and industry regulators
Assist with the development and delivery of training modules regarding legal issues. Advise the
business with regards to changes in legislation that affect the company, its clients and industries.
Provide other ad hoc legal advice as required including areas of employment law, data privacy
law, intellectual property, etc.
Background and experience










In addition to being a well-rounded commercial lawyer, the candidate will:
Be UK (or analogous common law country) qualified either within a law firm or in house
Have received their training at a large city, global or regional firm.
2.1 Degree qualification
C2-4 years PQE*
Experience with relevant commercial, corporate, outsourcing or commercial property contracts
An excellent communicator
Have a confident manner when in a fast paced environment
Happy to look at wider commercial issues including employment
* PQE is merely a guideline, no level of experience will be precluded

The details
We pay market salaries and the right person will be offered a package according to their experience.
You will be based at our head office at the Blue Fin Building in Southwark but may be required to work on a
client site. The building boasts amazing views over London with café, coffee shop, roof terrace and paid Gym
in the basement.
The area itself (Bankside) is one of the oldest parts of London – entrepreneurs, artists and revelers have
flocked here for almost 2,000 years. It is one of London’s most vibrant areas, with a heady mix of culture,
foodie delights, attractions and architecture. Bankside was once known as London’s larder, it’s a title that
lives on today in the fresh produce of Borough market and the wealth of fine restaurants, pavement cafes and
shops surrounding it.
You will work 9am to 6pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4pm on Fridays.
