Approx $200,000??? See attached map Other considerations ACC is about to invest funds in upgrading the BMX track. We would like this to remain. The pump track brought down from Dinner Plain for the B24 was located near the transition area. This proved a huge hit. Suggest the location of the pump track be located somewhere central rather than being tucked away in a corner. Buller run events and solely around their pump track. We could do the same if it is well located. ACC desperately need more storage space and club rooms. We are prepared to build this if some land is allocated. If we don’t get this as part of AEP, we will look elsewhere which will probably result in us moving events to near our clubrooms and away from Pioneer Park. The cycling hub identified on the plan past the tennis courts would be an ideal location for this. Instead of a new tunnel under Coronation Avenue, we think we would be better served by upgrading the existing tracks underneath Doughertys Bridge (widening the present opening significantly) and creating further tracks under the bridge on the other side of Morses Creek. This would enable creation of a genuine finishing bowl and event village precinct that would better provide for the opportunity for hosting major events, give better access to the tracks in the Rotary Pines area and also Roger Packham Track. This would also provide for utilisation of the preeminent DHI track in Australia, which is what would be required for major MTB events such as nationals, oceanias, world cup and world champs. Bike parking areas are required. Velodrome – modern velodromes (concrete) are low maintenance and provide genuine multi purpose opportunities (music/hockey/soccer etc) Slope style course – this modern phenomena is not currently provided for within town and would open the door to another event opportunity, one for which few facilities exist in Australia. The crit circuit, as well as prviding a facility for criterium events would be an ideal warm-up track. It could be used for the Rod Run which would take pressure off local streets. We could also use it to expand our successful junior MTB program to road riding. Enabling us to teach kids road skills and safety in a controlled environment.
