Future Oswego Leaders Conference Sponsored by: Omicron Delta Kappa, Student Association, Oswego Alumni Association, Phi Beta Lambda, and Beta Alpha Psi PURPOSE: This program is intended to encourage students to uphold leadership positions during college and throughout career endeavors. Our StrengthsQuest presentation and break-out sessions will introduce students to their specific strengths and identify areas of utilizing such strengths in career development, college involvement, academic achievement, and resume building. The alumni portion of our program involves a panel discussion and keynote speaker event. The panel discussion and break-out sessions will give students an opportunity to network with prominent SUNY Oswego alumni in five diverse industries. The keynote speaker is Mr. Fred Festa 81’, the Chairman, President and CEO of WR Grace, a premier global specialty chemicals and materials company. Integrating alumni into our conference will expose students to the various accomplishments that are possible with a SUNY Oswego degree. TARGET POPULATION Target audience: entire student body, faculty, and staff Anticipated number: 300 Geographic location: Central New York o This program is developed to target the population by empowering them to use their leadership skills to expand roles within extracurricular activities and achieve career goals. PROGRAM OUTCOMES The expected impact on the program participants include: Increased self-understanding of personal strengths and leadership capabilities Encouragement to make challenging personal career goals Ability to define leadership and apply this concept to student’s everyday life PROGRAM DESIGN The program will be coordinated by Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, the SUNY Oswego Student Association, the Oswego Alumni Association, Phi Beta Lambda, and Beta Alpha Psi National Accounting Honor Society.
