The Malta Judo Federation is organising Shiai Tournament November 2010 Date: Sunday 14th November 2010 Time: 09:30 hrs – 13:00 hrs Venue: St Aloysius Sports Complex Junior Dragons (up to 9 years old: 2001 & after) The Junior Dragons will show judo skills learned during their judo lessons. The children will also participate in judo game competitions. Senior Dragons (10 & 11 year olds: 1999 - 2000) The Senior Dragons (10 to 11) are expected to take part in competitions of one-minute duration, following special rules, specified in the Espoir section. Espoir (12 & 14 year olds: 1996 - 1998) The Espoir (12 – 14) are expected to take part in competitions of three-minute duration, according to the following special rules: No Strangles & Arm locks Kumikata (grip) before Hajime (start) Matte on break of Kumikata by both competitors After first warning - penalty Arm around neck; Makikomi & Sutemi Weight Categories: Girls: -34, -37, -44, -48, -52, -57, -63, 70, +70 Boys: -41. -45, -50, -55, -60, -66, -73, -81, +81 Cadets (14- 16 years) (1994, 1995 and 1996) Categories: Males: -55, -66, -81, +100 Females: -44, -52, -63, +63 Duration: 4 minutes – Golden Score 2 minutes Special Refereeing Rules (including attached document) : Application of kansetsu waza is prohibited: The referee will stop the action if any of the athletes try to apply kansetsu waza and there will be no penalty. If Tori applies kansetsu waza a second time, he is given direct hansoku make and he is not allowed to continue the competition. Application of shime waza is allowed: An athlete who has lost consciousness due to shime waza is not allowed to continue the competition. Juniors & Seniors (17 years and over) (1993 and before) Males: -55, -66, -81, -100, +100 Females: -44, -52, -63, -78, +78 Duration: 5 minutes – Golden Score 3 minutes Fee: € 3 General Refereeing Rules for all: FORBIDDEN: Grips of legs and blocking: All direct attacks or blocking with one or prohibited. Two hands or with one or two arms below the belt are prohibited. Punishment – Hansokumake AUTHORIZED: Grips of legs in sequence of technique EXCEPTION: Grip of leg is authorized when the opponent is in the position of cross guard. PROHIBITED: In a normal Kumi-Kata position to escape by passing the head under the opponent’s arm, then by grabbing the leg is prohibited.
