Spring 1:
CSD 210 (3 hrs):

Phonetics
Speech Science
Normal Language Acquisition
Language Disorders in Children (must proceed or be taken concurrently with CSD 312)
Total: 12 hours
Summer 1:
**CSD 312 (3 hrs): Normal Language Acquisition (online)
CSD 388 (3 hrs): Cultural and Linguistic Diversity
Total: 3-6 hours **if not taken in Spring 1
Fall 1:
CSD 216 (3 hrs): Anatomy & Physiology
CSD 360 (3 hrs): Hearing Science
CSD 318 (3 hrs): Introduction to Phonological Disorders in Children
CSD 495 (2 hrs): Clinical Observation
CSD 522 (3 hrs): Neural Bases
Total: 14 hours
Spring 2:
**CSD 315 (3 hrs): Language Disorders in Children
CSD 316 (3 hrs): Language Disorders in Adults
CSD 371 (3 hrs): Introduction to Audiology
CSD 673 (3 hrs): Aural Rehabilitation
CSD 496 (2 hrs): Clinical Observation
CSD 482 (3 hrs): Clinical Methods
Total: 14-17 hours
**if not taken in Spring 1
- Applicant must also have completed at least one course in the following non-CSD categories: biological science, physical science, statistics, and
social/behavioral science.
Acceptable Courses:
-Biological science: biology, human anatomy and physiology, neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, and genetics.
-Physical sciences: physics or chemistry.
*Social/Behavioral science: psychology, sociology, anthropology, or public health.
NOTE: Courses in biological and physical sciences specifically related to communication sciences and disorders (CSD) cannot be applied for
certification purposes in this category.
