This permit is valid within the boundaries of the City of Mountain Home and the Mountain
Home Rural Fire Protection District and is valid until revoked by the Fire Chief or his
designated representative.
With my initials and my signature below I understand and acknowledge my responsibilities
regarding open burning and the issuance of this Burning Permit:
_____ I acknowledge that I have received a copy of the Idaho Department of Environmental
Quality “Illegal To Burn Materials” and “What Cannot Be Burned” flyers.
_____ I acknowledge and understand that if I burn any prohibited items that I am subject to
prosecution under Idaho law.
_____ I understand that occasionally the Fire Department will issue a “Burn Ban”, especially
during the summer months. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to know when
a “Burn Ban” is in effect and that no open burning is allowed, even with a “Burning
Permit”. Information concerning Burn Bans can be found at our website:

_____ I acknowledge and understand that I must monitor and attend my burn at all times and
that I must have a water source available for extinguishment.
_____ I acknowledge that I must call Elmore County Dispatch at 208.587.2100 prior to
burning and advise them of the location of the burn and the time the burn will
commence. Additionally, I must call them after my burn has been extinguished.
_____ I acknowledge and understand that if the Fire Department is dispatched to my burn
because I violated the above items, I could be billed up to $500 for the call.
______I acknowledge and understand that if my burn becomes “out of control”, I shall
immediately dial 911 and ask for the fire department to be dispatched.
With my signature below, I acknowledge that I understand my responsibilities as the holder of
this Burning Permit.
