2nd Biennial Perinatal Palliative Care Symposium The 2nd biennial Perinatal Palliative Care Symposium takes place on Friday, March 21, from 7:50 a.m. to 4:20 p.m., in the John H. Ammon Medical Education Center on the Christiana Care Health System campus, in Newark, DE. This full day educational opportunity targets regional health care professionals who share a passion to provide the best possible holistic care for families whose unborn or critically ill infants have a limited life expectancy. The object of this symposium is to expose participants to various supportive actions to be used when providing palliative care to this specialized population. Topics include: • Ethics or Palliative Care: Which Consultant, When? • State of the Science: Perinatal Palliative Care • Supporting Siblings • Spiritual Support • Parent Panel • It’s Just Hard - An Interactive Theater Presentation • Narrative Ethics • Neonatal-Perinatal Palliative Care and Enduring Impact of Loss The registration deadline is March 14 with pre-registration required. The cost for Christiana Care employees is $75 ($95 day of event, if seating permits). Non-Christiana Care employees pay $95 ($105 day of event, if seating permits). Emeritus physicians and non-Christiana Care students pay $35. There is no charge for Christiana Care residents, fellows and students.
