1. MARACOOS Year 1 Semi-Annual Report
a. Due June 29, 5pm (Friday).
b. What have you done since Dec 1? = That will be the report focus
c. Steve will send out reminders on financials. We need updated invoices.
d. Text due to Mike Friday, June 15!!
e. MARACOOS board will review on June 28/29.
2. FY12 MARACOOS Funding
a. Everyone should have received and email from Steve requesting rebudget info.
3. MTS Abstracts Due today, June 1

b. MARACOOS/SECOORA/NERACOOS will have a booth, and we will ask people to
volunteer a couple of hours at the booth during the week.
BE PREPARED TO SUBMIT CO-AUTHORS

b. June 4: Coastal Managers meeting in Miami (Gerhard)
c. June 4-5 New Bedford, Pioneer Array Meeting: Researchers talking about what science
should be done with OOI Pioneer array. Paid by state of Mass. Wendell going.
d. June 4-8: CHOW – MARACOOS table – Carolyn, Gerhard, Peter, Student interns, Doug.
e. June 13-14: Fish Expo in New Bedford. Wendell is attending COL booth to smooth over
Pioneer array issues. Greg DeDominico is asking if MARACOOS would like to have
booth. Peter, Josh, Greg may attend.
f. June 18: NCEP (Jay, Scott, Gerhard, Eoin, Alan, John, Avijit, Lou). Focus: 1-Ocean
impact on the weather, 2-Assimilation of MARACOOS data improves the forecasts.
i. Schedule has been sent out and is attached below
g. June 19: Fisheries Meeting at Rutgers (Josh, John, Nickitas, John Hare, Peter). Focused
on getting MARACOOS habitat data into Butterfish assessment.
h. June 25: Legislative Staff Visit to D.C. coordinating with university outreach teams.
i. June 28-29: MARACOOS Board Meeting in Baltimore
j. June 30: MARACOOS Semi-Annual Report due (Reporting period Dec 1-May31)
k. October 14-19: Oceans MTS meeting in Hampton Roads
l. October 25-Nov 1: Tentative MARACOOS Annual Meeting
m. November 13-16: IOOS Summit, Dulles Airport Hilton
ii. White papers due June 30. They should be 1000 words to 5 pages. Including
figures.
iii. Two focus areas: how do we respond? How do we influence?

e. Jim ODonnell is looking for two postdocs for data assimilation.
