Collection Days for 2014: TRASH Monday, April 14 Monday, July 14 Monday, October 13 Trash collection takes place on the second Monday of the month. Trash will be collected on the second Monday in April, July and October ONLY. There is no trash collection for those months not listed. Place trash at the curb on Monday by 6:30 am and not more than 24 hours previous. Only 10 items will be accepted per household per pick-up. Definition – Trash: No loose piles of trash will be accepted. Bundles not to exceed 50 lbs. Furniture, carpeting and other large dense items must be capable of being handled by one person (must be bundled and tied and no longer than 3 feet in length). Solid waste/garbage that does not fall under the above Garbage definition such as, but not limited to, plastic toys/waste, small appliances (no TVs or monitors), wall coverings, laminated cardboard boxes, etc. White goods (stoves, refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers will not be taken unless a “certificate of removal” is applied from a licensed technician by NYS DEC. Please remove all doors from appliances. Should you decide to place trash in bags, a garbage sticker will be required. Trash day will NOT be used as an opportunity to avoid paying for garbage stickers. There is no charge for items that fall within these guidelines Items Not Considered Trash: Any industrial hazardous or infectious waste required by law to be disposed at a hazardous waste disposal facility. Asbestos or PCB wastes including any waste packaged in drums or the drums themselves. Batteries, cleaning fluids, crank case oils, paints, acids, caustics or poisons of any kind. Household garbage – a garbage sticker is required.
