Kennedy’s famous speech at the time of Martin Luther King’s assassination and were taught how to complete the Speech-a-Week form.

Speech-of-the-Week Journal: This part of class we will practice using the
Speech-of-the-Week form by viewing
Robert F. Kennedy’s speech in response to Martin Luther King’s assassination and evaluating it using the form. This in-class exercise will be turned in by the end of today’s class.
As the semester continues, students will:
View a speech of they choose
each week and evaluate it by completing a Speech-a-Week
Form.
Each week’s completed form will be handed in by the beginning of the next class.
Once the instructor returns the graded form, students need to collect them in a designated section of their 3 ring binder to form a Speech-of-the-Week
Journal.
Introduction to Interview Speech
(Introduction of a Classmate): Inclass discussion of how to interview and organize an introduction of a fellow classmate:
1. Gathering facts: Interviewing your classmate.
2. How to Introduce Classmates in
Speech Class
3. What Makes Introductions
Interesting.
In-class Video-taping of
Introductions: Students will be asked to sign Videotaping release and then be taped while introducing their classmate using notes and written paragraphs.
Written Assignments:
1. Your first Speech-of-the Week
Journal Page will be due next week.
2. After you introduce your classmate, the Gathering Facts worksheet and your interview and introduction notes will be turned in. (Everything may be in your own handwriting and on notebook paper.)
