For Civil Service Use Only 15. Please describe your assigned duties, percent of time spent performing each duty, and explain what is done Page 1 to complete each duty. List your duties in the order of importance, from most important to least important. The total percentage of all duties performed must equal 100 percent. Duty 1 General Summary of Duty 1 % of Time 50 Design the transportation facilities required to properly convey water and drainage through/along the MDOT Right of Way without damage to the traveled roadway or adjacent private property. Individual tasks related to the duty. Prepare hydraulic analyses, including water surface profiles, and scour analysis, for bridges and culverts which meet the intent of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act. Utilize knowledge of hydraulic and transportation engineering principles in hydraulic design. Designs must conform to all environmental and drainage laws as they relate to waterway crossings. Prepare hydraulic reports for Michigan Department of Environmental Quality concurrence with the state floodplain statutes. Prepare countermeasure design calculations for road embankments, bridge abutments, and bridge piers. Duty 2 General Summary of Duty 2 % of Time 30 Review the hydraulic/hydrologic design for such transportation facilities as culverts, bridges, and storm sewers when the design is done by other MDOT design units, local government agencies and/or consulting engineers.
