Our seventh and eighth grade Open House is Wednesday, September 9. Seventh grade begins at 5:15pm and eighth grade begins at 7:15pm. Car Circle: For those who park and walk their child up, we ask that students are prepared to exit the car with backpack in hand. Please make sure to move forward and close all gaps. Please display a Name Tag on your dash so we can keep the flow of the car circle moving and not have to knock on your window to inquire your child’s last name. Use your left turn signal when you are ready to exit. We still need parents to serve on the IAC Committee. Those who do may miss some of the general membership meetings by doing so. For each two meetings served, one general meeting may be missed. Mr. Ateek shared the sad news that we lost of one of our student’s (Natalie P.) unexpectedly over the summer. Our guidance counselors have been available for our students to talk to. Since Super Hero Day was our first Spirit Day, several students asked Mr. Ateek if they could wear blue in honor of Natalie, and he agreed. The request started with some students but through social media, almost the entire middle grade students participated in wearing blue. Mr. Ateek commented that was the right way to use social media. Just a reminder that when students use social media they need to remember the word “THINK” before posting anything. THINK = is it TRUE, is it HELPFUL, is it INSPIRING, is it NESSECARY and is it KIND. We will miss you Natalie and we know you will always bring sunshine to us here at the beach. Nice Always smiling Talented Artistic Loving Intelligent Enjoyed life Respectfully submitted, Kathy Mohney SAC Secretary/Treasurer
