The picture of a man mowing the lawn is a typical male
or father role (the expected behavior of a person
holding a particular status) in society. Although today's
modern society is changing, leading to social
irregularities, it is still stereotypical for men to do the
more "robust" work around the house.

The picture of the woman cooking reinstates the one of the roles of
the woman, the fact that their place is in the kitchen. Women were
always thought to be stay-at-home mothers while the men were the
ones who brought in the income. Although the ideal men and
womens status' still apply today, there are exceptions in every
household.

School in Cambodia. The children in this picture
don't have a lot of money because the school that
they're in is situated outdoors, the roof is made of
cloth, the supporting structures are made of
wood/branches, and their tables are planks of
wood. The students' parents probably don't make
enough money to send their children to a better
school. The problem with income and wealth
creates inequality; the students will have less
opportunities than those who go to more
prestigious schools and will suffer with class
standing throughout their lives.

The picture of an African American couple is an example of endogamy,
the practice of marrying within a social group. While there are interracial
marriages these days, there are still many religions and people who are
strict about marrying within the same social group.

In contrast, this picture of an Asian and White couple is an
example of exogamy. Decades ago, interracial dating or
marriage was highly frowned upon, but now it's more widely
accepted in today's culture. Especially in San Francisco, a
city with a lot of diversity, interracial couples can be seen
wherever you go.
