Olympic Athlete Biography Project
For this project you will be researching a famous Olympic Athlete from the
past or present. You will be taking notes on this person. You will then put
together a bag that contains 5 items that represent that person. (You can use a
brown bag, grocery bag, gift bag, etc. A brown bag is easier to decorate. See me if
you need a bag. You must write a five-sentence paragraph for each of the five
items in your bag. Explain (in writing) what the item is, how it relates to your
athlete and why you chose it to represent them. After you have finished your
research and your writing, then you can decorate your bag with your athlete’s
name and things that represent them. You will then present this bag to the class
by showing your bag, the items, and reading your paragraphs.
You will have Monday through Thursday to research, take notes and cite
your sources. You will also have to find your items for your bag at home during
that time. You will have Friday and Monday in class to write your paragraphs
about why your items relate to your selected athlete.
Due: Tuesday, September 4th at the beginning of class. Be prepared to
present with all your materials this day as well. It will take a couple of days to get
through such large classes but everyone must be prepared on Tuesday.
