Treasurer News:

Taxes may be paid in person @ Security Credit Union, opening in July located at 5200 E Peck Rd, Croswell MI. Make
checks payable to Buel Township.

Payments made via US mail should be mailed to Kim Stencel, Township Treasurer 3250 Fargo Rd, Croswell, MI 48422
Make check payable to Buel Township. Your check must clear or receipt is void.

Receipts will not be provided unless requested at the time of payment.

Taxes and 1% administration fee are due 7/01/2015 thru 9/14/2015. Beginning 9/15/2015 interest will be charged @
1% per month unless deferment is requested prior to 9/14/2015. For 2015, the last day to pay 2015 property taxes
before they are returned as delinquent in Monday, February 29, 2016 (last day of February) after February 29, 2016
taxes are payable to the Sanilac County Treasurer, 60 W. Sanilac Ave., Rm 204, Sandusky, MI 4871, Phone 810-6482127.

Summer Tax Deferral Information:
1. It is possible for some property owners to defer their summer taxes until February 16, 2016.
2. Read the rules on deferment form to see if you qualify.
3. Applications for deferment are available from the township treasurer or at
http://www.michigan.gov/documents/homestead1_2541_7.pdf
Land Use Permits:

Permits are required on any type of construction project for your property, also for demolition.

Contact Mark Stencel at 810-633-9421 for zoning regulations and issuing of permits.
Fire Department Service:

Local fire departments charge fire runs to the property owner, ranging from $800 - $1,200, depending upon fees
established by the servicing department. Contact your insurance agent to determine if you have adequate coverage. .

When burning brush or debris, a BURNING PERMIT is required. Contact the Fire Department Chief that services your
section.
Blight Zoning Ordinance:

This ordinance is in place in your township to maintain its attractive appearance.

