Music: "Kindergarten is learning new rhymes and
songs that focus on steady beat as well as learning
about Scott Joplin and Ragtime."
Homework: Please return by Thursday, November 5th
Please read to or with your child every night and fill in a pumpkin
on the reading log sheet for the month of October. Please turn in
the reading log sheet next week for October for a free personal
pizza. The November reading log is being sent home today.
Please fill in the acorn for each day that you read. There is also a
rhyming match game activity that is attached.
The Riggs Vocabulary words we have learned are “and, can, the, I,
am, an.” Flash words are often found in introductory books.
Knowing some words, and needing to sound out others helps the
reader move along and not get bogged down by sounding out
every word, every time.
Homework: Please return the sheet with your student’s phone
number on it. Please practice the phone number with your
student. We will be testing the students to see if they have
memorized their phone number in a couple of weeks. They only
need to recite their phone number and not write it at this time.
Magnetic force can go through things like glass or wood. A
magnet is a piece of metal that attracts to iron and steel. There
are different types of magnets (wand, horseshoe, bar, ball).
Wilbur and Orville Wright created kites as young boys. They
opened a bicycle shop and built and fixed bikes during the day.
They worked on building a glider at night. They built the first
airplane called The Flier. They tested it at Kitty Hawk, North
Carolina.
Art: This week in Art, students finished painting leaf texture
rubbings with cool colors. Students also learned about Piet
Mondrian and the primary colors.
Spanish: We will be working on our workbooks on
numbers and colors.
