the 5th Annual Buckroe Beach “Arts in the Park” late
Summer. The event will be held in Hampton, Virginia at the Buckroe Beach Park overlooking the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. This
year’s artists and vendors will be able to enjoy parking facilities near the park. The event will be located in the large Buckroe Beach
Pavilion Park adjacent to the boardwalk, allowing artists, musicians, food and beverage vendors to be in one festival area.
The juried art/craft show will take place between 10am and 6pm on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Music will start at 11:00am. This
event will be a one day show. (Rain Date: Sunday, September 14, 2014)
Eligibility: Original Art/Craft Work Only. Only handmade/handcrafted items, no franchise vendors will be accepted. All fine
artists and craftsmen are encouraged to participate.
Submission Details for Art Vendors
Images: Artists and craftsmen are to submit three (3) pieces for consideration. All work must be original, no mass produced items
will be accepted. Please submit no more than 2 images per piece. Electronic Submissions are preferred and are to be submitted
directly to Beverly Crandell at beverlycrandell@hotmail.com . If you do not have the capability to submit electronically you may
submit a CD with photo images, along with your application in .jpg format, not exceeding 1MB or 1024KB for each image. Images
submitted must be of the same quality, style or likeness of the pieces available at the show. All items must be received no later than
August 15, 2014 to ensure space availability.
Jury: Representatives of the Hampton Arts Commission and/or local artist community will serve as show jurors.
Limitations & Requirements:




Artists must supply their own display materials (tables, wall boards, shelving units, chairs etc.)
Tent or display area is limited to 10ft x 10ft unless other arrangements are made (no stakes will be allowed)
Artists are responsible for the set up and removal of their materials (volunteers will be available to assist)
Sponsors maintain no liability for artwork damage due to weather conditions, vandalism, or theft
How to Submit: Applications may be submitted via e-mail or regular mail no later than August 15, 2014. Artists will be
contacted when their application, and the non-refundable space fee of $75.00 has been received. Space is limited, apply early to
ensure space availability!
Notification: Confirmation of featured artists and craft artisans participation will be e-mailed on or about August 15, 2014. A list
of the featured artists will also be posted on the Buckroe Arts in the Park website and on the Arts in the Park Facebook page. A
follow-up notification will be e-mailed to each applicant.

Application Process:
All artists must apply to be a participant by August 15, 2014. All artists must submit at least
three (3) images of sample artwork to be sold, along with their application.
How to Submit:
Digital images of up to three (3) pieces on CD-ROM or via email application form.
Payment:
A non-refundable space fee of $75.00 is required. Payment for the space secures your spot and
will be due by August 15, 2014. If two spaces are required, the space fee is $150.00. All
unreserved spaces will be made available to other artists by August 25, 2014. Please make your
check out to The Buckroe Improvement League, with a notation that the fee is for the 5th Annual
Buckroe Beach “Arts in the Park”.
