INTERVIEW 1 Q: Deng Deng you are welcome into our School, I can see your School is composing of boys and girls, tell me what’s happening in your School? A 1: Yes my School is a mix School; it has huge number of boys and girls which are mixed up in different classes, and I have learned that girls are being disturbed by the boys, by telling them to be in love with girls in the class, and sometimes they do follow girls when they are departing back home and harassing them on the way. Q: How does it affect girls at School? A 2: The girl, who is in love with a boy in the same School, can lead to the bad performance of the girl, and she can even dropout from School because they sit on one bench in the class and that can affect the understanding of the girl in class with bad performance. Boys always disturb girls by phone call during School hours and at night which contribute negatively toward girl education at School. Q: You said that when a girl is in love with a boy can lead to the bad performance and girl dropout, Are there girls dropping out from school because of the boys? A 3: Every year, more than 5 girls they do dropout from School, because of the pregnant, or when to the early married, boys who married are also dropping out from School because of the family responsibilities, and they cannot work without completing their education Q: You said before those girls are being disturbed by the boys, is that being done by the boys who are in School only? A 4: Not only the School boys disturbing girls, that involves the boys who are in the village, they interrupts girls when found them reading in a group in the village, which mean girls are being annoyed by both boys in School as well as in the village. Q: Moses Kuek as you have heard from Albino, Are you aware that drop out of the girls is caused by the boys? A 2: Not only girls’ dropout from School, the boys who married while under age can be told by the parent to take the responsibility of the wife, which mean girls are also causing the dropout of the boys from School. Q: Awar Daniel: What can the girl say to make you boys understand? A 3: Sometimes a girl can say no to the boy but she don’t mean the real no, a boy cannot follow a girl who has really refuse to be in love with him, so there a need for girls to be realistic in their statement so that we should not run after them every day. Q: Marko Majok. As you have heard from Awar, do you have something to say to the girls? A 4: School is a public institution which does not require physical appearance, but girls use to come with short skirt which sometime make boys feel attractive and that is why you can see a lot of harassment on the way. Q: Gabriel, Marko said that short skirts make boys to feel attractive, what can the boys do to protect their sisters and other girls at School?
